I dabble in web. I don’t really do web design. WordPress is too easy. But I do like having a website and managing others. One such site, is www.sytysogt.com. Originally, I was going to move all of the files from www.SyTy.org over and do things “my way.” That never materialized. Why do it twice?

So the site sat. It did become the domain host of Syclone Typhoon Chat, so it was partially useful (and a hit with a core group of SyTy Enthusiasts). Then I added WordPress to the site, just because I could. And it sat again.

Here’s how it sits currently:

Now I have a direction! I am going to turn the site into an unofficial SyTy photo archive with a fresh Gallery3 install as well as a SyTy News/Features site.

There’s a lot of good information flowing on SyTy.net, but not everyone has time to sift through all the threads and replies to find the good stuff. I intend to do feature posts about sweet builds, product features from SyTy vendors and more. Hopefully, we can establish this as a premier site for SyTy news and keep these rare trucks at the top of people’s minds.

It’s time to turn up the boost and get rolling on this.

Desktop Garage.

Some of you are thinking, “how sad. It’s just a Hot Wheels car.” I’m actually pretty excited. I have a bad habit of getting them too often for my son, and if he gets one, why shouldn’t I? Of course, I’ve gotten better at not getting him one every time we go to the store.

Recently, we were in Wal-Mart and our 9 month old picked out his very own car. My wife had the cart stopped next to a bin full of Hot Wheels. He picked a 1971(72? can’t remember) Ford Gran Torino Sport. If he could get one, then our 2 year old needed one and Daddy needed one too, right?

I came home with a 2010 Cadillac CTS-V. I would love to have one in real life, but it probably won’t ever happen and I’m content with owning the pint-sized version. It doesn’t need gas, tires, repairs, insurance, etc.

I did have to rearrange my “desk garage” though, to fit it in along with the new family photos I brought to work.

Behold:

I’m still going through the pictures I took, these three just happened to be the ones that caught my eye right off the bat.
