After a rain delay on Sunday, July 4, they were able to have the Greeley Stampedes firework show last night (Monday, July 5.) It’s the first fireworks show my wife and I have seen in several years. It was pretty good! We got to hang out at her parents house and we could see them just fine.

This was also the first year I was able to use a camera in which I could control its various functions; f-stop, shutter speed, etc. Being that I’m still learning the camera, I spent some time just playing with shutter speed. I left f-stop alone, set at f-8.

Here are just a few of the best pictures I ended up with. I did do a little post-processing in Photoshop to darken the background to full black (stupid street light… street light was also the reason I had to use a zoom lens).
